Bagger / Hazardous Chemical Waste Handler

Summary: The primary responsibility of the incumbent is to satisfy the following functions/services:

  • Operate forklift in close quarters to move equipment and loads to work area.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy equipment, drums and bagged material.
  • Ability to perform simple arithmetic calculations and fractions.
  • Work safely with and around toxic flammable and corrosive chemicals and must be willing to wear proper safety equipment such as hard hat, safety glasses, chemical resistant suit, dust mask, rubber gloves, respirator, safety boots, rain protection gear, apron and other equipment as required.
  • Field/Outdoors work in the bagger's skill area include operating bagging, machinery, blowers, drum pickers, glue gun, palletizer, stretch wrapping machines, etc.
  • Must have ability to stand and walk for long period of time.
  • Ability to work on ladders, scaffolds and in pits.
  • Ability and knowledge to perform general fire safety tasks and fire fighting equipment, extinguishers, etc.
  • Label, seal, tag and palletize containers for shipment.
  • Required to work outdoors in inclement weather.
